Can I build a DIY solar in Utah and always stay connected to the grid?
I bought my house last year and I want to build my solar panels to supplement energy use. The goal is to reduce my consumption energy and electricity bills. I'm not interested in or are likely to spend several thousand dollars for a system pro-installed. I'm not interested in being completely off-grid. Net metering is not necessary, but it would be nice. I have experience with electrical and worked with my father (electrical contractor) for several years wiring homes. What are my realistic options to a significant dent in my bill? There seems to be a lot of regulations on the grid-tie systems. How can I get around them and still be safe? I do not particularly care if a bureaucrat says my system is safe. Thank you. Rocky Mountain Power Co (Pacificorp) and I live in the city (Ogden Metro) grid tie inverters What Cost? I was interested in building panels for fun and prizes. I have not found many signs cheap.
. Much depends on where you live .. ie in the city or Im sticks out the network and not to use a lot of juice so I have a lot less then what you need. linked into the network .... it there are things much more than you need to explore ... I belive UP & L. has some info you can look into in terms IN CONNECTION in their system. Im assumeing that you treat. Then you'll need a license. Inspections. Etc. to tie into their system ........
