Can sunspots really destroy civilization?
I heard that sunspots cause solar flares and that is a big one hits earth it could burn out all transformers and civilization would collapse without electricity for at least 2 years it takes to replace them, ( if possible to do with no electricity) man would revert to stone age quickly, no cell phones ( the satellites go down too from the flare) not gasoline pumps no water pumps etc etc.) we all become Amish overnight.
Well not stone age, but like 1700 - 1800 maybe. Who could survive? they also said that sunpsots occur in cycles and the next big cycle is due 2011 ( every 11 years or so) The one in 2000 knocked out power in Quebec.
