Heating your home with a simple solar water heater

Winter Home Heating workshop or can quickly become a very expensive and not everyone is able to make use of firewood. But for the do-it-yourselfer there are other alternatives. Before we begin, I recommends that you learn the basics of solar energy systems home how to work with this free course.

There are many ways to a solar water heater inexpensive and they are basically quite simple.

A typical design consists of a wooden frame, a few leaves corrugated iron painted black, and a few tubes of water at high temperature (plastic or metal PER) also painted black. The tube is in direct contact with sheet metal so that when the sun hits the metal, it heats the pipe.

A sheet of clear acrylic is placed on the frame but not touching any metal parts, so there is an air space is created between the acrylic glass and metal.

A common automotive radiator with a fan is connected to solar heating. The hot water from the collector is circulated through the radiator and the cooled water back to the bottom of the solar water heater for warming.

The system can operate without a water pump depending on how it is designed, but a water pump is inexpensive to make sure it works well.

Depending on how your house is built, You could put the solar water heater on your porch and run insulation 1 "pipe or hose through a wall. Or, if you want to get fancy, you could make a full enclosure over for her.

While this house solar power system will work as long as the sun shines, it is a proven, valuable addition to off-grid plans heating. If you build a larger version, more complex, you may be able to store enough hot water for heating during the night.
