Could a portable AC to be powered by a solar panel, a maintenance charger and a car battery up?

If I used a small solar panel, a power converter and a maintenance charger, would it be possible to run a small portable unit battery AC big car. Keep the battery and solar panel on the outside and run the cord and the inside of the power converter, would it possible to have enough power to operate the portable unit for 4-6 hours a day or would it be too much for the car battery to withstand large a long period of time? I wish I had a second battery on hand a run and a recharge. Would this work?

Depends on the size your battery and the panel, and what you run on your UPS.
